Stamp-John Muir

John Muir was a pioneer in conservation and protection of our natural resources.  He was instrumental in convincing President Teddy Roosevelt to set aside 148 million acres and the establishment of Yosemite and Sequoia National Parks in California.  John Muir is synonymous with our National Park system and this 5 cent stamp was created to celebrate his life and conservation efforts.
